Her mother worked as an accountant, and her father was a historian. Anna was raised by her older brother Michael an actor, who later became an actor. Anna Kendrick began auditioning for Broadway shows when she was a teenager in Deering High School in Portland. She was 12 years old when she landed her first stage role in High Society.
